Refundable deposit, every time
Renters pay a deposit sized to their trust score — up to 150% of your item's base deposit for unverified users. It's held by Stripe and released to you if there's a dispute.
Photo-verified handoff
Both sides upload timestamped photos at pickup and return. No photo = no rental. This is your paper trail if anything goes wrong.
Trust scoring on every renter
Renters earn trust through completed bookings and reviews. You set the minimum trust level required to book your gear.
Stripe holds the money
Payment is captured the moment a booking is confirmed. You receive your payout 24 hours after a verified return — no chasing, no cash.
Common questions
What happens if my item gets damaged?
The renter's deposit covers the damage up to the deposit amount. For items above the deposit value, the photo evidence is your documentation to pursue a claim. We also offer an optional damage waiver that renters can purchase — when they do, their deposit is waived and replaced with a 10% fee that goes toward protection.
What does the 8% fee actually cover?
Stripe payment processing, fraud detection, trust scoring infrastructure, dispute mediation, and platform maintenance. Your first 3 months are 0% — the fee only kicks in after your early-host period.
Can I set my own availability?
Yes. You set a per-day window (e.g. weekdays 9am–6pm, Saturdays 10am–4pm) and a buffer between bookings. Renters can only book within those windows.
What kinds of items are allowed?
Anything legal, insurable, and under ~$10,000 in value. Common categories: sports & fitness gear, power tools, camera equipment, outdoor/camping, party supplies, musical instruments. Vehicles and real estate are excluded.
Do I need insurance?
You're responsible for your own insurance if you require it for high-value items. The deposit system handles routine damage; for items over $2,000 we recommend confirming your home/tenant insurance covers peer lending (most do).
